The main airport in Slovenia for most international flights is Ljubljana airport in the capital. Located around 15 miles from the city centre, its unlike other airports in the region being much further from the city it serves.
Slovenia also offers two other main airports, but flights to/from these are limited. Maribor Airport in the north only sees an average of one flight per day in and out, whilst other airports are mainly for private and charter flights.
Buses connect Ljubljana airport to the city centre, along with Bled and Kranj.
Buses direct to Ljubljana run roughly every half an hour and are provide by Arriva Slovenia. You can buy tickets on board the bus, at the kiosk at the airport or Ljubljana main bus station, or you can also buy online. Journey time to Ljubljana station is 30 mins.
Tickets one way cost €4,00 per person.
Arriva buses are responsible for most long distance buses in Slovenia.
Maribor Airport only sees one flight per day currently, and as a result recieves no public transport links to the terminal.
Taxis are available, most drivers know when the single flight is due and the rank should be plentiful for arrivals.
Alternatively, around a 20 to 25 minute walk from the terminal building is Orehova Vas station located on the mainline between Vienna/Graz and Ljubljana. Regular local trains serve the station, and you can change onto Intercity trains in both directions at Maribor, and Celje.
